Greetings CCMS families,
On April 2, the Global Career Development Department organized a visit for a group of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to the South Carolina Ports Authority in Mount Pleasant. During this informative trip, students and chaperones gained valuable insights into the import and export business. They observed crane operators skillfully lifting containers off ships and loading them onto trucks.
It was particularly noteworthy that the South Carolina Ports rank as the 8th largest in the nation. Our guide, Ms. McCoy, provided extensive information about the various career opportunities available within the Ports Authority. The students were particularly impressed by the significant presence of women in diverse roles at the ports.
Additionally, they learned that many positions do not require higher education, and once employed, individuals have the opportunity to pursue further education with the assistance of the South Carolina Ports Authority.

The CCHS Global Career Department and the Jobs for American Graduates Organization held the 2025 Spring Career Fair on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 8:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. It was an exceptional opportunity for many local companies to engage with students, showcase the organizations' career pathways, connect with future talent, and gain valuable exposure while educating students about each business. Attention CCMS families: As we gear up for Iready testing next week, here are a few reminders for students:
1. Get a good nights rest.
2. Make sure to eat breakfast.
3. During the test, take your time. Don't Rush.
4. Use scratch paper and pencil if you need it.
5. Do your best.
The South Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals (SCAEOP) hosted its 43rd Annual Conference from March 20 to 23, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Greenville in Greenville, SC. This premier event offered educational office professionals opportunities for professional development, networking, and inspiration.

• Opening Keynote (March 21, 9:15 AM - 10:30 AM): “Shift with Dr. Joy!” presented by Joy McLaughlin-Harris, an international speaker, leadership educator, and re-brand coach.
• Closing Keynote (March 23, 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM): Delivered by Charlene McKnight, founder and executive director of Four Giving Hearts, Incorporated.
• Workshops and seminars offered a variety of sessions covering topics such as technology, communication, and leadership.
• Networking opportunities allowed attendees to connect with peers from across the state & to share experiences and best practices.
• The Awards Banquet celebrated the achievements of colleagues with an evening of recognition and entertainment.
Colleton Academy for Success Career Fair
At Colleton Academy for Success (CAS), we are dedicated to preparing our students for a bright and successful future. Our Career Fair on Thursday, March 20, 2025, was an exciting opportunity for our students to actively engage with professionals from various industries, gaining valuable insight into the many career pathways available to them. By connecting with experts in different fields, students were able to explore potential career options, ask meaningful questions, and start envisioning their futures with confidence.
This event introduced students to a wide range of career clusters, helping them understand the skills, education, and experiences needed to excel in different professions. Whether they are interested in healthcare, human services, technology, business, the arts, skilled trades or etc. The students were provided a firsthand look at real-world opportunities and the steps necessary for students to achieve their goals.

What an unforgettable day!
On Friday, March 14, 2025, our amazing Exceptional Athletes traveled to Woodland High School to compete in the 2025 Special Olympics - and they SHINED! 🤩
They dashed through the 100m 🏃♂️
Launched tennis & softballs across the field 🎾
Took on the long jump with fearless determination 💪🏽
And WE CHEERED OUR HEARTS OUT! 📣🩵
It was a day full of sunshine, smiles, and school spirit as our Cougars brought home some serious new BLING 🥇🥈🥉
A huge THANK YOU to the amazing teachers, chaperones, parents, Nurse Frank and athlete buddies who made this day possible. Your support, energy, and love lifted our athletes every step of the way! 💗
