Meet CES School Nurse Donna Waddell. She has been the school nurse of CES for four years. Nurse Waddell’s background includes medical surgical nursing, Intensive Care Unit staff and management, surgical and post-op staff nurse, home health care, case management and clinical manager and Adult Education Nursing Assistant instructor.
As the school nurse, Ms. Waddell provides direct care to our students. She provides care for injuries and acute illness for all students and long-term management of students with health care needs. Ms. Waddell provides leadership for the provision of health services as the health care expert within the school. She provides screening and referral for health conditions. Ms. Waddell promotes a healthy school environment by providing information on health education covering various topics such as nutrition, exercise and proper hygiene. She serves in a leadership role for health policies and programs. Also, Ms. Waddell serves as a liaison between school personnel, family, health care professionals and the community. Ms. Waddell is able and willing to help with the health needs of our students. Please contact her for assistance.
